About Linguver

Linguver is a free language-learning game built on one stubborn idea: you remember the words you aim for, not the words you read. Most vocabulary apps hand you flashcards and hope something sticks. Linguver turns learning into a shooting game instead — an English word falls, you spin a six-chamber drum, and you fire its translation before the clock runs down. Because you had to recall it in the moment, it stays with you.

The game grew out of a simple frustration: word lists are boring, and boredom is the enemy of learning. Anyone who has tried to memorise a page of vocabulary knows how little of it survives the next morning. A game changes that. It gives each word a little pressure, a little reward, and a reason to come back tomorrow — the same things that make arcade games hard to put down, pointed at something genuinely useful.

Linguver teaches English vocabulary to speakers of eight languages — Spanish, French, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, Russian, Turkish and Vietnamese — across dozens of everyday topics, from food and the body to work and travel. Every word comes with pronunciation and audio so you can hear it in a native voice, and your progress is saved as you go. It's free to play, with no download and no sign-up to start; an account simply keeps your progress synced across your devices.

Linguver is built by a small independent team that cares about doing one thing well: making vocabulary stick without making it a chore. We're always adding words, topics and improvements — and we'd love to hear what you think.

See for yourself. Play a level and feel the difference between reading a word and shooting one.
